Hi! and welcome to the blog today.

I have another album to share using Lemoncraft's 'Heart Painted' paper collection and I do hope you enjoy it.

I used some of the Anna Marie Blissful papers in green and cotton to supplement the Lemoncraft ones. They come in a pack of six designer papers and one basic pack with 12 sheets. I used every crumb of the designer paper. :)

I have a You Tube walk through if you would rather see the album that way.

Thank you so much for joining me today.

Have a great evening.

Hello and welcome to the blog today.

I have had a quick play with the dies and stamps from Tonic Studios Kit #14 this morning and made this card.

The finished card is 5 x 7" and I've cut the front down to 4 1/8"

I stamped the paw prints on a strip of white card 1/2" wide and layered it onto a strip of black 7/8" wide for the inside edge of the card.

The dies were used to cut the frames and I've gutted the window frame to hold the sentiment that I generated on the computer.

I used Nuvo alcohol markers 405 and 393 for the flowers and banner die.

I've inked through the die to add markings to the wee dog who reminds me of my Shih Tzu Charlie though the colouring is different.

I grounded the pup with some pale grey marker (485) so he wouldn't be hanging in mid air.

The die set has so much to offer and would provide hours of fun. I hope you enjoy yours if you managed to catch it before it sold out.

Thank you for calling in today.

Hi and welcome to the blog today.

I have another album to share with you made from the dies and stamps that are part of the new Tonic Studios Craft Kit 15 due out in November.

I have made a six page album using the main die with chipboard and patterned papers

My camera went on the blink so I wasn't able to get a lot of photos but I have done a YouTube walk through if you would like to see the rest of the album.

If you go to the Tonic website HERE and click on Craft Kit Website at the top of the page it will take you to all the info you need to subscribe to the monthly kits. Once there you will find a link to all the inspiration using the kits from the uber talented video team.

The kits are jammed packed with dies, stamps, papers, Nuvo samplers and lots more.

The kit is on sale currently for dispatch on 1st November. Be sure to secure yours before they sell out.

I used the Nuvo Expanding mousse in Boatyard Blue and Worn Linen - the one I couldn't remember on the video. LOL
The book rings are from my stash but the ones that come with the kit are very stylish copper and bronze. 😃

Pixie Dust Header die set

Good morning and welcome to the blog today.

I have a couple of cards to share using the Pixie Dust header die set. Once I saw this die I just knew I had to do a silhouette card so I set to.

Tonic products used -
Square layering dies
Nuvo Aqua Flow pens - Red Apple, Mango Mimosa, Aqua Splash, Obsidian Black
Nuvo Glitter pens - Red, Gold, Athenian Blue
Sentiment strip die - Believe
Craft Perfect - Ultra Smooth white

I applied the colours to my glass mat, spritzed lightly with water and popped the white card on top. I gave the card a quick swirl and then lifted it up and let it dry to keep the vibrancy of the colours.
Once dry I tapped the black pen over the surface to give me the black dotty finish.

The die was cut from black card stock and attached to a frame cut from the Tonic square Essentials layering dies.

I applied the red apple and mango mimosa Aqua flows to a piece of white card stock just inking the borders for my back layer and used a spare piece from the main background to die cut the sentiment.

I finished off the card using the Glitter pens on the toadstools and flowers.

My second card is a shaker in more pastel shades.

Tonic products used -
Craft Perfect Ultra smooth white, Mauve Purple
Strip sentiment die - Dream
Nuvo Shimmer powders - Solar Flare, Atlantis Burst, Violet Brocade
Nuvo Confetti - Aqua Flakes, Candy Pink Hexagons, Diamond Harlequins, Hot Pink stars
Aqua Flow Glitter Gloss pen
Nuvo Hybrid inks - Rubber duck, Dried Oregano, Spring Heather
Nuvo Crystal drops - Dandelion yellow, Apple green, Violet Galaxy

I cut a piece of the ultra smooth card stock a bit bigger than I needed.
I peppered the surface with the shimmer powders and then spritzed it with water until I was happy with the result.
The die was cut into a piece of ultra smooth and cut to size. I inked the elements through the die with the hybrid inks then backed the piece with Craft Perfect acetate.

The decorated piece of card stock was cut to size and backed onto a layer of mauve card stock.
I added an assortment of confetti into the centre of this piece, 3D layered the acetate front onto the top making sure there were no spaces in the foam for confetti to escape.
This was then adhered to the card front and the card was finished with a sentiment and the Nuvo Crystal drops.

Hello and welcome to the blog today.

I have another selection of cards I made for the launch of the Stitched Layering Dies by Tonic Studios currently on Hochana with Jodie.

Catch up to see smashing demos and loads of inspiration from the team using these essentials for your crafty stash.

I'm starting with the square layering dies for this card and using multiple layers and frames I've created a basic card with loads of dimension.

Tonic products used -
Craft Perfect - Bright White, Ocean Blue, Raspberry Pink
Nuvo Crystal drops - Rhubarb Crumble
Best Wishes centre sentiment

For my second card I've used the Rectangle Stitched layers die set.

This is a jolly little Christmas card using our delightful gingerbread men dies.
I've embossed the large double stitched die onto the card front and then used the layering dies to create the background, keeping it fresh and simple.

Sentiment - Serif Merry Christmas
Jubliant Beautiful Bunting dies
Gingerbread Trio die set
Craft Perfect Harvest Gold mirror card

My next card features the Oval Stitched layering dies and some splashes of colour.

Tonic products used -
ATC sentiment from the Hello die set
Nuvo Aquaflows - Mango Mimosa, Flamingo Pink, True Turquoise
Craft Perfect - Bright White, Jet Black
Nuvo Crystal drops - Ebony black

Inky background

To get the effect on the front of the card I used white tissue paper.

Apply the aqua flows to your glass mat and spritzed lightly with water.
Place a piece of tissue slightly bigger than the card front on top of the ink and allowed the colours to soak into the paper.
Transfer the inked tissue paper to the card front and allow the ink to transfer.
Allow to dry naturally.
Take the inky tissue paper and using your heat gun dry it thoroughly.
Cut a piece large enough to act as a border on your card using a water pen or similar to give a natural edge to the piece.
Cut a narrow strip of black card and apply to the top of the card to give a neat finish.

Round the corner edges, add your die cut ovals and sentiment and complete with a few ebony crystal drops.

My last card uses the circle stitched dies to make an easel base and for the mats and layers.

Tonic products used -
Craft Perfect - Amethyst Purple, Bright White
Nuvo Pure Sheen Glitter - Hot Pink, Violet Infusion, Purple Organza
Nuvo Embossing powder - Purple Haze
Nuvo Hybrid ink - Royal Plum
Fanciful Frond die set
Wings and Things - Mariposa butterfly

I die cut the butterfly using Tonic's double sided adhesive sheets and added the glitter in bands to give an ombre effect. I backed the butterfly with white card stock and attached one side to the card base and left the other side free to give movement.

I hope you enjoy these today. I certainly had a lot of fun making them.

Thank you for calling in. Have a good one!

Hello and welcome to the blog today.
I have a card to share using the new Tonic Craft Kit #16 that I have been fortunate to have a play with. Details of how to subscribe are on the Tonic web site HERE.

The kit is packed with goodies to play with but I've just used a selection of the dies for my card today.

I've also used the Pewter Grey weave textured card and Blushing Pink Pearlescent card that come in the kit.
I've add a piece of Silver Silk for the backing plate and some Bright White Craft Perfect card stock for the frame and die cut panels.

I've also used the recently launched Stitched Square layering dies for the mats on the card.

The cute daisy die cut has been completed with the lovely Mini Jewel Drops in Rosewater that come with the kit.

I have a sideways view of the card to show the layered panels. I've triple cut the sentiment to give a shadow effect.

There is a lot more inspiration to be had using this kit and you can find an Inspiration button on the kit page that will take you to the lovely video tutorials prepared by the video team.

These kits sell out very quickly!

Have a great weekend and thank you for joining me today.

Happy Christmas and a Peaceful and Blessed New Year

I just wanted to pop in to wish you every blessing for this Christmas season.
It's been quite a year, very busy but very fulfilling too.

For my card I've used one of the stamps that came with the Creative Stamping magazine Issue #63. I just fell in love with these stamps and I'm sure they will be used for many Christmases to come.

The greeting is done on my Go Press machine and is a Todo sentiment.

My card couldn't be simpler, coloured with Nuvo alcohol pens and matted onto gold card stock.

You might have been half expecting a gloriously die cut and ornate card but I'm out of action for the time being with a really painful arm so I've had to put the die cutting on hold for the time being. You can never tell with fibro just when it will hit and how hard. Ouch!

I also wanted to say thank you most sincerely for the lovely comments I've had the pleasure of receiving throughout the year. Most of my work is critiqued on FB etc so the blog is just ticking over but that doesn't take away from the support I continue to receive here and I'm very thankful for it.

I wish you all a very blessed Christmas and a Happy and peaceful New Year.

I'm taking a break to see if this arm recovers but I hope to be back in the New Year one way or the other.

Take care and thank you once again.

Hot Foiling

Hello. It's been a while but I thought I would pop in to share a card I made using my Go Press and Foil machine today.

The two samples below were made using the Gemini Foil Press as I wanted to see how the foil reacted to two different machines.

I've used the Crafter's Companion Pretty Peonies background stamp for my experiments and I have to say I just love it.

The foil is one I purchased from a vendor on FB and is an iridescent pigment foil. I love the stark contrast with the black and white. I added a few roses I purchased at Wild Orchid Crafts to bring a splash of colour.

I made a little card stock band across the card and punched the edges with a Stamping Up decorative edge punch. The sentiment is from Tim Holtz's Theories CMS329 stamp set.

I've used the negative foil i.e. the bit that remains once you have foiled the design onto a piece of card stock. It would be such a waste not to use it.

Below is an image of the positive foil transfer and I used the Gemini Foilpress for this example. I am so impressed with the detail.

The second image is the negative transfer from the same piece of foil.

Spectacular isn't it? You can just make out the iridescence of the foil in this pic.

I have used both machines and prefer the Foilpress for most of the foiling that I like to do but the GoPress is the one that accepts Todo plates so I'm holding on to that as I have quite a collection and don't want them neglected.

Thank you for calling in today.

Have a great weekend. x

Good morning. I hope you had a super weekend.

I'm sharing a variation on a theme today with a piece of negative foiling coloured with Distress Inks. This dulls the sheen just a little but with this iridescent pigment foil you can still see the rainbow streaks when you move the card.

I've kept it ultra simple to show off the gorgeous background. I didn't want to cover it with stuff!

Hi and welcome to the blog today.

I've been on a mission to make some quick and easy cards whilst having a short break from prepping.

I've used Distress Oxide inks for the background on this card with a little touch of stencilling here and there for added interest.

The image (from Studio Light's Romantic Botanic range RB221) was stamped and heat embossed to add texture and the bird element stamped again and cut out for some depth.

The sentiment is from Tim Holtz's Snarky comments collection but I've cut off the snarky bit. LOL 😃

I've edged the panel with black soot distress ink to draw attention to the focal point of the card.
It's finished off with some Ebony Nuvo drops and a punched strip of card.

On the close up you can just make out where I lifted the ink using a floral mask but you have to know it's there as it didn't pick up quite as much as I hoped.
The sentiment strip is actually white but came out a funny colour in the light.

It's just so much fun having a play with no pressure.

Hope you are enjoying these quick cards as much as I've enjoyed making them.

Have a great day!

Happy Birthday Handsome!

Good morning and welcome to the blog today.

My card today is one for the men folk. Another simple card using backgrounds I had gathered in my box for just this purpose. 😃

There are just some days when the old mojo has gone on holiday that you only want to mess about and play. The backgrounds on this card were made using Distress Oxides and I apologise that I don't have the colours to hand for the larger piece.
The small piece was done with Faded Jeans, Cracked Pistachio and Fossilized Amber.

The background was embossed with a new 3D folder from Crafter's Companion and I just love the effect. I embossed two sections diagonally and left a centre panel flat.
I've edged it and lightly inked the surface using Walnut stain distress ink on an applicator.

The front piece was done using oxides and acetate. My new favourite way to apply inks to a surface.
I added ink by pressing the ink pad firmly onto to the acetate and spritzing with water.
I dragged the acetate over the card diagonally to get this effect.
I've used water colour card stock -  200gsm cold pressed as recommended by my teamie Jen Kray.

The stamps are from a set by Hunkydory that I've had in my stash for ages.

I've also used staples to attach the layers for a wee change.
I roughly cut the banners and added Nuvo drops in Dark Walnut to finish.

I'm gathering up quite a few of these simple cards for my charity box so I'll soon have enough to make a trip to the shop.

Thank you for joining me today.

Have a good one!

Folk Art Garden

Hi and welcome to the blog today.

I just had to have a go with my new Chocolate Baroque 'Folk Art Garden' stamp.

It's huge and is totally gorgeous and such a pleasure to work with.

I've used Distress oxides for the background and for adding more colour to some of the elements on the image after it was embossed. I wasn't using watercolour card stock but managed to get the job done without pilling the surface.

I went with the primaries Red brick, Faded Jeans and Fossilized amber for a bit of drama.
I spritzed the background with water to give the oxidised look and then stamped the image using Versafine Onyx black ink and finally heat embossed with Nuvo clear embossing powder.

I then went back with Worn Lipstick, Fired Brick, Fossilized Amber and Faded Jeans distress oxides to paint in a few details and bring out the main elements.

The sentiment is from Tim Holtz's Small Talk collection. I'm loving these for my cards at the minute.

The card base is 7 x 6 3/8" to give you an idea of scale.

Have a great evening and thank you for calling in.
